Job Purpose
- To break ore safely by means of a rock breaker.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Std 10 – General
Competencies
- Demonstrate knowledge pertaining to basic health and safety principles in and around a workplace.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Fire Protection and Suppression systems
- Demonstrate knowledge of Rock Breaking Principles and techniques
- Demonstrate an awareness of customer service.
Key Performance Areas
- Perform pre-checks required before operating the conveyor system
- Performs emergency procedures on conveyor belts when necessary
- Perform pre-checks on Rock Breaker before operation (oil levels, leaks, etc.)
- Operate the Rock Breaker according to the prescribed safe procedures
- Record and report the number of buckets tipped
- Report damages or faulty machines to the responsible person
