Bursary Overview
The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is offering an annual Full Art Scholarship to a qualifying Fine Arts student for the 2025 academic year.

Requirements/ Criteria
If you will be registered for one of the following qualifications in the 2025 academic year, you could qualify for the scholarship:
- Final year of a four-year undergraduate degree in Fine Arts
- Honours degree in Fine Arts (following a three-year undergraduate degree in Fine Arts)
- Master’s degree in Fine Arts
- One-year Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts (following a three-year undergraduate diploma in Fine Arts)
How to Apply
All qualifying students need to complete a full online application form with all supporting documents. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
All applications will form part of a database which will be used on a need basis and as per funder requirement throughout the year.
This means that we may contact applicants at different times in the year and offer bursaries.
Submit the following documents in PDF format:
- Completed application form
- Images of 6 to 8 artworks produced in 2023 and 2024
- Academic transcripts for 2023 and 2024
- Copy of identity document

The closing date for the submission of applications is Monday, 30 September 2024. Late applications will not be considered.
Examination results, proof of acceptance at a recognised institution (a student number) and any other supporting documents must be submitted with the application.

Potential external bursars will be required to avail themselves for interviews. Successful applicant(s) for the bursary will be expected to sign an agreement with the SARB.
