Samsung Electronics South Africa Production (Pty) Ltd. has a vacancy for a Procurement/ Purchasing Officer.

Closing date: 02 July 2024

Location: Durban

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Diplomat Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement or related Qualification.
  • At least 3 years Computer literacy.
  • SAP, MS Office skills especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • At least 1-3 years’ experiences in New-material Development Contracts, Price Negotiation and SCM (Supply Chain Management) operations (prefer LOCAL & Global both operations)

  • At least 2-3 years’ experiences in Procurement/Purchasing/Buying and Inventory Management
  • At least 1-3 years’ experience in MateriaW/arehouse Management (Storage, Goods Movements and Goods Issued)
  • At least 1-3 years’ experiences in a Manufacturing and Corporate environment
  • At least 1-3 years’ experience in Importing and Export
  • Knowledge of procurement ethics and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchasing of electronic and/or mechanical parts locally and globally
  • Management of Supplier Contracts (write and negotiate)
  • New Material Contracts, price negotiation
  • Placing and expediting of Purchase orders timeously
  • Proactively manage inventory and prevent aging
  • Ensure purchasing master data is maintained accurately

  • Prepare purchasing weekly reports to Manager
  • Manage suppler performance in accordance with the company’s requirement’s
  • Efficiently manage vendor defects and processing of all replacements
  • Efficiently manage all Engineering changes (EC’s) and reporting thereof
  • Assist in Stock Take Audits and Cycle Count Audit
  • Assist the Purchasing Sub-leaders and Manager as and when required as per operational requirements.
