The South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) is recruiting! Unemployed graduates are invited to apply for the SAMRC Support Internships 2024 – 2025.
Closing Date: Thursday the 1st August 2024 at 16:30.
Location: Cape Town / Pretoria, ZA
Successful applicants will be appointed on a one-year contract.
About the SAMRC Support Internship
The South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) strives to improve the nation’s health and quality of life by funding and conducting relevant and leading health research.
It further aims to promote equity, career development and progression.
The SAMRC extends an invite to graduates to apply and participate in an internship programme in various Departments at the various regions as indicated below.
Available Internships and Qualifications
Internship placement in the following Departments:
Finance
Location: Cape Town – (R 755A) (X1)
- Qualification: 3-year National Accounting Diploma or similar relevant qualification or higher
- Other criteria: Exposure to Excel and an Accounting package such as Pastel will be advantageous.
Supply Chain Management (SCM)
Location: Cape Town – (R 756A) (X1)
- Qualification: BCom degree in SCM or Logistics or similar relevant qualification or higher
- Other criteria: Computer literate.
Human Resources
Location: Pretoria – (R 757A) (X1)
Qualification: 3-year National Diploma/Degree in Human Resource Management or similar relevant qualification or higher
Other criteria: Computer literate and ability to communicate effectively
Knowledge and Information Management Services
Location: Cape Town – (R 758A) (X1)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent with a strong interest in Knowledge and Information Science or any Bachelor degree with a Postgraduate Diploma in Library and Information Studies (PGDLIS)
Other criteria: Proficient in computer skills with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong communication skills, both written and verbal would be advantageous.
Research Capacity Development
Location: Cape Town/Pretoria – (R 759A) (X1)
Qualification: Three-year qualification in a health science discipline or similar relevant qualification or higher
Other criteria: Computer literate and ability to communicate effectively. Exposure to Excel would be an advantage.
Health Safety and Environmental Office
Location: Cape Town – (R 760A) (X1)
- Qualification: Higher education Diploma/Degree in Health and Safety or similar field.
- Other criteria: Computer literate and ability to communicate effectively
Legal and Compliance Services
- Location: Cape Town – (R 761A) (X1)
- Qualification: Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB)
- Other criteria: Computer literate and ability to communicate effectively
