About South African Young Water Professionals
The South African Young Water Professionals is the empowerment platform of Water Institute of Southern Africa and a chapter under the International Water Association Young Water Professionals Program.
The Water Institute of Southern Africa (WISA), is a professional, comprehensive, independent, voluntary institution which brings together experts from a wide range of disciplines to meet, discuss, plan and present solutions for a sustainable water future.
South African Young Water Professionals (YWP-ZA) is the empowerment platform of WISA and a chapter under the International Water Association (IWA) Young Water Professionals Program.
IWA is a network of water professionals which strives for a world in which water is wisely, sustainably and equitably managed.
YWP-ZA has both a national committee and provincial committee . If you are interested in joining the provincial committee refer to the information below.
YWP-ZA is currently running its biennial elections to appoint new provincial committee members for the 2024–2026 term (2-year appointment). Several positions are open for applications.
Minimum requirements
- Applicant must be between the ages of 18 and 33 years when applying
- Applicant can be studying towards, working in and/or has a passion for the water and sanitation sector
- Member of WISA and/or IWA (or must have applied to be a member).
