Location: Potchefstroom, North West Province 

Job Purpose

The Metallurgical Intern is tasked with understanding the theory and applying it in the quality department.

Key Performance Areas

• Optical Microscopy: Compound and Stereo Microscopes.
• Heat Treatment.
• Failure Analysis.
• Hardness Testing.
• Tensile Testing.
• Auto-titrator.

• Ammonium vapor Test.
• Render metallurgical support and investigative service on RDM.
• Ensure metallurgical integrity of RDM products through execution of specific mechanical, chemical, micro/macro analysis and specified tests.
• Professional service and input into effective surface treatment, coating and preservation methodologies.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent qualification.
• S4 or S5 (Metallurgical Engineering).

Skills and Knowledge

• Computer literacy.
• Clear security screening.
• Good planning and organizational abilities.
