If you’re pursuing a Master’s, Doctoral, or Postdoctoral degree, this is your opportunity to secure funding and take your academic journey to the next level.
The Oppenheimer Memorial Trust awards a limited number of scholarships each year for postgraduate study at Master’s, Doctoral and Postdoctoral level.
Eligibility: Local Scholarships
Scholarships are given to candidates with a proven record of academic excellence who intend topursue careers in academia, research, development or related fields in South Africa.
Preference may be given to students pursuing studies at local universities.
Eligibility: International Scholarships
Only exceptional candidates, who present specific and purposeful plans for advanced programmes in unique or highly specialised disciplines not readily available in South Africa, will be considered for international scholarships.
Or who are able to demonstrate that they have advanced to a level where international tuition at a renowned institution, or under the direction of global leaders in their particular discipline will contribute meaningfully to their chosen fields.
Study Fields Funded
We encourage applications from all disciplines (except for MBAs, DBAs, or programmes with a narrow commercial focus). Awards are made bi-annually.
