An internship is a programme which provides on the job training for unemployed graduates who need to gain work experience.
The Discovery Internship Programme has over the years successfully developed and changed the lives of over 480 graduates, with an average permanent placement of 71% post an internship.

Legal Advisor Internship
Key Purpose
The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality legal advice and assistance is made available to Discovery Employee Benefits in the most efficient way.
To represent Discovery in legal matters before the Ombudsman for Long-Term Insurance and Ombudsman for Short-Term Insurance.
Education and Experience
- LLB / BDegree in Law
- Proficient on MS Office. Computer literacy essential specifically Microsoft Word & PowerPoint and Excel
Compliance Officer Internship
Key Purpose
The Purpose of the role is to assist the Compliance Guidance Officer with the management of compliance risks within Discovery, including Cat II and Cat III compliance matters.
As a Compliance Intern, your role will be to assist Discovery in managing its responsibility to comply with all the regulatory requirements and minimise the compliance risks identified in business.
Education and Experience
- Essential:
- Relevant Law or Commerce degree.
- No previous internship and or graduate programme in any industry or government institution
- No work experience.
- Between the ages of 20 – 30
- You must be a South African Citizen by Birth or by naturalization before the 27th of April 1994.
- Advantageous:
- B.Com Honors / BusSci degree in Portfolio Management
