Job Summary/ Purpose
To obtain experiential learning and a qualification through a structured 36 month programme.
The intention is to afford applicants an opportunity to obtain a national qualification in the Boilermaker or Fitter fields. This opportunity is available through Colliery Training College, an MQA accredited institute.
Candidates will be taken through to Colliery Training College for theoretical training and will also be given the opportunity to do practical training at the mine.
Key Performance Areas
Successful candidates are expected to adhere to all company Health and Safety policies and procedures. Successful candidates are expected to ensure good housekeeping.
Ensure that task related SOPs & checklists are adhered to at all times. Ensure that proper documentation is used applicable to the task at hand.
Assist the line manager with major and minor tasks to be detailed in objectives. Compile daily,weekly and monthly reports as stipulated by the line manager.
Ensure adherence to all company health & safety practices and procedures. Attend college classes on a 3 month block basis as determined by the company.
Qualifications
- Grade 12/Matric
- Minimum requirement of Boilermaker N3.
- Must be medically fit (Mine Health safety Act Requirement.)
- Must successfully complete the Mine Health and Safety Induction.
- Must be self-motivated and eager to learn and succeed.
- Must be good written and verbal communication.
Eligibility
- Must be part of the community youth group aged 18-35 years.
- Must be from the following communities; Apiesdoring, Ga Manoke & Dresden.
