The Intern will work closely with other more experienced auditors within the team, who will be there to provide the necessary guidance to facilitate audit deliverables and professional growth.

Job Purpose

The purpose of the role is to gain experience in conducting governance, financial and operational process audits on the various business areas within the Group.

About the Internship Programme

The internship is a structured work-based program, affording unemployed graduates work experience in our company.

The successful applicants will enter into a 12-month fixed term Internship agreement (not an employment contract) with the company and receive a stipend.

OUTsurance’s Internal Audit team is looking for a strong and vibrant individual to join its internship program.

This role will not only give you exposure to a leading brand within the insurance industry, but also to an Internal Audit environment that is founded on the IIA Standards delivering assurance that is at the forefront of what the profession has to offer.

Requirements

Take note to qualify for an INSETA Internship program you need to:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Not previously part of an internship/learnership with INSETA
  • Be between the ages of 18 & 35
  • Unemployed in the last 2 months

Qualifications

  • 3/4 year degree/diploma or equivalent in Internal Audit; or
  • Internal Audit Honors.

Skills and Attributes

Desired skills that the Intern wants to develop:

  • Communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills;
  • Professional/specialist/technical expertise;
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Report Writing Skills;

  • Planning and organisation/work management;
  • Understanding of the insurance industry; and
  • Practical experience within internal audit processes and the application of the IIA Standards and best practice.
