Job Purpose
The CSIR has a vacancy for a Safety and Setup Coordinator in the CSIR Conferencing and Accommodation (C&A) portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for working with the Facilities department to plan the setup of all equipment, furniture, décor etc. to ensure compliance with safety and other legislation, standards and guidelines whilst minimising risk to staff, clients, contractors and guests, also to assist with the general health and safety for the venue and staff.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- A Matric certificate with a basic SHEQ certificate (NQF level 5) within Health and Safety with at least three years’ experience in a Health and Safety Officer role
- Experience within first responder as a Basic Ambulance Assistant (BAA) will be advantageous
- Computer literacy, especially in drawing floorplans
- Driver’s license and own vehicle
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
