About Gibela Wesolve4x Maths Competition
Gibela Rail has teamed up with WeSolve4X to host an exciting maths competition for Grade 6 learners in Gauteng! The competition aims to inspire young minds and boost math proficiency.
Gibela Wesolve4x Maths Competition is an inter-school math competition for learners in grades 6 only. It consists of two rounds: the first round and the Final round. In twenty-twenty five the competition will culminate in a national championship.
The competition consists of multiple-choice questions that test students’ problem-solving skills in algebra, geometry, and number theory.

Participating in the Gibela Maths Competition can offer numerous benefits to pupils, including developing problem-solving skills, building confidence, and fostering a love for mathematics.
The learner’s shared excitement and passion at the competition will be infectious which will make the hard work of the dedicated Maths teachers worthwhile. The program will reward top-performing learners.
Competition Rounds
The competition has 2 Rounds-1st round and Final Round
First Round● In the first round of the competition, learners will have 180 minutes to complete math problems without a calculator.
This round consists of multiple-choice questions that test students’ problem-solving skills in areas such as algebra, geometry, and number theory.
Learners who score 75% and above in the first round will advance to the second round, where they will be tested on their mathematical reasoning.
This round includes multi-step problems that assess learners’ mathematical reasoning and problem-solving processes.
Final Round● Focuses on problem-solving and mathematical reasoning. Learners who score 75% and above in the first round are allowed to participate.
The multi-step problems featured in this round engage learners in mathematical reasoning and problem-solving processes. Problems assume without the use of calculators.

- Parent or guardian
School Registration by School Representative- Registration is for free
For public and private Schools.● It is mandatory for all grade 6 learners in the Gibela Wesolve4x Maths Programme to participate in the Competition.
Schools that are not in the Gibela Wesolve4x Maths programme are allowed to register only 5 Top learners to participate in the competition.
Each school will select A team of 5 grade 6 learners to represent their school in the competition. Registrations are done online by a representative of the School listing their team.
Each school Must attach a list of their team on a signed and stamped school letters head after online Registration
Parent or Guardian Registration is free. Parent or Guardian must register their grade 6 learner one application at a time. More than one learner can be registered by one parent or guardian to a maximum of 5 learners.
