Job Purpose
This role involves utilizing statistical and analytical methods to extract and analyze data, generate comprehensive reports, and support the implementation of automation initiatives within the organization.
The primary objective is to optimize business processes, identify trends and patterns, and provide actionable insights to enhance decision-making.
By doing so, the role contributes to improving the organization’s overall product offering and driving continuous improvement.

About the Coronation Catapult Programme 2025
The Coronation Catapult Programme is a strategic partnership with Prescient Securities and Navigare. The aim of the programme is to recruit and develop young graduates who will be placed at these respective stockbrokers.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance skills in database design principles, mastering the use of SQL for querying databases, and effectively managing database systems.
- Data mining, extraction, and reconciliation from various data sources
- Analyzing and collating large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions.
- Processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysis.
- Assist with the update and maintenance of internal Technology catalogue and process register.
- Assist with Business Analysis, and process documentation as instructed.
- Generate reports and presentations that effectively communicate data-driven insights to various stakeholders, including the Exco Team.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in data analysis, machine learning, and financial markets to identify opportunities for innovation and improvements within the organization.
- Collaborate with Business and IT teams.
- Work Closely with the Quantitative and Development Team
- Engage with various teams in the business to enhance your knowledge across the various asset classes, which will enable you to optimize data analysis and requirements.
- Ad-Hoc requests as and when required
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification: BCom / BSc / BBusSci / Hons in a related quantitative finance field (Investments, Analytics, Quant Finance, Stats, Mathematics)
- Advanced Excel skills
This is a graduate position thus no experience necessary.
JSE and RPE Exams (willing to write):
- Introduction to Financial Markets (RPE)
- Regulations and Ethics of the South African Financial Markets (RPE)
- Equity Market (RPE)
- Bond Market (RPE)
- Derivatives Market (RPE)
Knowledge
- Advanced Excel skills
- Intermediate Knowledge of VBA, SQL and Python
- Intermediate knowledge of Power BI
- An understanding of Databases and Data Management
