The HST is committed to an equitable healthcare system that recognises basic socio-economic needs as an important determinant of health outcomes.

We are implementing a prospective study to establish a Pregnancy Exposure Registry (PER) which incorporates routine antenatal and perinatal data gathered using a sentinel approach and pooled from individual registries across three provinces in South Africa, namely Western Cape, Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.

Remuneration

A salary package commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications and in line with HST’s Job Grading System will be offered.

Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant

The Health Systems Trust (HST) wishes to appoint a Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant for the South Africa Sustainable Response to HIV and AIDS (SA SURE PRO) Project in uThukela District, KwaZulu-Natal to render pharmaceutical support in health facilities that promotes and implements the principles of drug supply and management.

Qualifications

  • Registration and active status as a Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)

Experience

  • One year’s experience as a qualified Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant with the SAPC

Nurse Clinicians x3 posts

The Health Systems Trust (HST) wishes to appoint three Professional Nurses in uThukela District, KwaZulu-Natal Province to support the District Department of Health in providing direct HIV and TB service delivery as part of the South Africa Sustainable Response to HIV and TB (SA SURE PRO) Project in the district.

The incumbents will provide HIV and TB services to patients at Primary Health Care clinics in compliance with the project’s service profile and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing – (four-year degree) or Diploma in Nursing with Midwifery.
  • Current registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC) required.
  • Competency certification in Nurse-initiated Management of ART (NIMART) is essential.
  • Competency certification in Adult Primary Care (APC) is essential.
  • A dispensing licence would be an advantage.
  • A valid drivers’ licence is required, as this is a community-based role.

Clinical Advisor

The Health Systems Trust (HST) wishes to internally appoint a Clinical Advisor in uThukela DistrictKwaZulu-Natal Province for the South Africa Sustainable Response to HIV and TB (SA SURE PRO) Project.

The project aims to strengthen local capacity for the provision of sustainable HIV- and TB-related care and treatment.

Qualifications

  • A relevant Nursing degree or diploma; diploma in Midwifery, or diploma in Primary Health Care
  • Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
  • Nurse-initiated Management of Antiretroviral Therapy (NIMART) certification
  • Paediatric NIMART and Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) certification

Data Capturer

Closing Date: 07 October 2024

HST seeks to appoint a Data Capturer to support the PER Project. The incumbent will be responsible for recruiting and enrolling pregnant women who consent to be part of the PER Project.

The incumbent will also capture data from the Maternal Case Records (MCR) and the Facility Health Records at Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital (PMMH) and its three feeder clinics into the KwaZulu-Natal PER database, and will participate in data-cleaning and query resolution.

This is a fixed-term contracts, valid for twelve months.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Excellent computer and typing skills are essential.
