About the Graduate Programme
Since its establishment in 2008, Mulilo has grown into one of the leading Independent Power Producers (IPP) in Southern Africa.
Mulilo is majority owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, the world’s leading private equity investor in renewable energy assets, through its New Markets Fund I.

Available Graduate opportunities
Graduate: Asset Management
The Graduate in Asset Management will support the Asset Manager.
The graduate will support the Asset Manager in the daily management of all commercial, contractual, technical, regulatory, and reporting obligations across the operational projects within Mulilo’s portfolio, with a focus on financial analysis, financial model updates and performance forecasting.
Required skills and education background.
- University Degree in Finance, Business Science or Engineering
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Power BI will be beneficial)
- Ability to manage several projects with time-sensitive project deliverables simultaneously and deliver them on time and budget.
- Strong analytical skills, strategic and problem-solving ability
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills and excellence in report writing and engineering design drawings.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with contractors, advisors, consultants and staff in a team environment.
Graduate: Business Development
The Graduate in Business Development will report to one of the Senior (New Markets, Bid Management, Senior BD) roles within the Business Development team and provide feedback to the Head of Business Development every two weeks.
The role will be multifaceted, providing support across all the BD functions to gain exposure to products and regulation, bidding and sales. It will be a supporting function at first until such time that ownership can be taken on key workstreams.
Required skills and education background
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or Law.
- Familiarity with value offering of Renewable Energy and an understanding of SA energy market regulations (wheeling, NTCSA, Budget Quotes etc) a plus
- Competent in Excel
- Comfortable to develop presentations and sell a Renewable Energy Product offering to Managers and potential senior executives
- Highly competent in the Microsoft 365 package (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills and excellence in report writing and engineering design drawings.
- Problem solver, who is eager to find solutions and see them through.

Graduate: Engineer
Minimum Required skills and education background.
- Competent in the fundamentals of engineering processes and demonstrated problem solving abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electro-Mechanical/Electrical/ Mechatronics/ Mechanical/ Civil Engineering required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with contractors, advisors, consultants and staff in a team environment.
- Advanced level of competence with the Microsoft 365 package (Teams, Outlook, Sharepoint, One Drive, Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
- Proficient in AutoCAD and computer aided engineering drawing packages and Geographic Information Systems such as ArcGIS.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills and excellence in report writing and engineering design drawings.
- Ability to manage several projects with time-sensitive project deliverables simultaneously and deliver them on time and budget.
Graduate: Environmental Management
As a Graduate in Environmental Management, you will work in the development lifecycle of various projects, from site origination, inception and pre-feasibility stages, through to permitting, bidding, and where applicable up to financial close (FC) and/or construction commencement.
You will work in the environmental team within the Project Development department reporting to a Senior Associate or Manager, and/or the Senior Manager: Head of Environmental.
Minimum Required skills and education background.
- Bachelors Degree in relevant field (Science, environmental, town planning, project management, project development)
- Possession of a valid, South Africa Code 08 driver’s license.
- Knowledge of Environmental Law
- Strong administrative skills.
- Ability to work within a team.
- Ability to solve problems creatively.
Graduate: IT & Systems
The Graduate in IT & Systems is designed to support the Senior Manager of IT & Systems in overseeing the company’s IT infrastructure, systems integration, and digitalization efforts.
The candidate will gain hands-on experience in various projects, assisting in the management of systems, cybersecurity, and digital tools to optimize company operations.
Required skills and educational background
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Mathematics or a related field.
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, systems integration, and cybersecurity principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and IT systems would be a plus.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or relevant technical training will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python) or scripting abilities would be a bonus
Graduate: Project Finance
The Graduate: Project Finance plays a critical role in the development and execution of renewable energy projects for Mulilo, responsible for supporting all financial aspects from bidding to financial close.
This role requires an affinity for numbers, quantitative skills, strong analytical skills, and a desire to understand complex financial and technical concepts.
Required skills and education background.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Graduate: Social Impact
The Graduate in Social Impact will support the Social Impact team in monitoring the Socio-Economic Development (SED) initiatives managed and implemented by Mulilo and its subsidiary projects.

As a Graduate in Transactions, you will work to bring various wind, solar and BESS projects to financial close (the commencement of construction).
You will work in the transactions team within the Development department reporting to a Senior Associate or Manager, and/or the Financial Close Lead.

- Bachelors Degree in relevant field (Engineering, relevant Finance/Quantitative degree)
- Possession of a valid, South Africa Code 08 driver’s license.
