About the Trainee Programme
ACTOM Industry offers opportunities for Top Performing Electrical Engineering Candidates (with an aptitude for ‘Electrical & Power Electronics Design’. ‘Control System Programming’ and -Hands-on Commissioning”) in its ‘Engineer-in-Training” (EIT) programme.
The programme provide young engineers with broad based training opportunities in all technical and project management aspects of the Company prior to being appointed to a position of responsibility for an interesting and challenging career.
Scope
- Electrical design, coding and commissioning of control and drive equipment, and testing of PLC, SCADA and Drive software for applications in the mining and metals sectors.
Qualifications
- B-Tech or B.Eng.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong in Problem Solving
- Leadership and Communication skills (English)
- Computer Literacy
- Interest in Power Electronics, PLC control and SCADA systems, Heavy Current Electrical.
- Strong interest and willingness to work hands-on in the field and away from home
Key Responsibilities
Training programme to be able to perform the following:
- Design, Coding and Commissioning of all electrical power and control equipment associated with drive application, mainly mine winders and mills
- PLC, SCADA and Drive software used in drive applications
- Factory acceptance tests
- Handling of break down call outs — Standby duty
- Electrical and Control Audits
- Presentation of training courses to clients
- Report writing
