Personal Assistant

A vacancy currently exists for an appropriately qualified and experienced person to provide professional administrative support to the General Manager: Savanna Research Unit in the Kruger National Park. The successful candidate will be expected to stay outside the park.

Location: Kruger National Park

Requirements

  • National Diploma and /or Degree in Business Administration, Office Management and /or related field.
  • 3 years experience as a Personal Assistant at management level and exposed to generic administrative work.
  • Must be computer literate: Microsoft Office Packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (e-mail).
  • Must have strong business communication skills.

Technical Officer

A challenging vacancy currently exists for a  Technical Officer at Mapungubwe National Park. The successful candidate will report directly to the Technical Manager and the responsibilities will be to assist Technical Manager in the management of Technical services sections of the park.

Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • N4 Certificate – Civil (Construction) will serve as an added advantage.
  • A National Trade Certificate in Building or equivalent will serve as an added advantage.
  • 2 years experience in building construction.
  • Computer literacy with working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Code EB driver’s licence is required but a C1 driver’s licence will be an added advantage.

Biodiversity Data Technicians

South African National Parks is looking for two self-motivated, experienced Biodiversity Data Technicians to assist the Cape Research Center (CRC) with curating, cleaning, formatting and uploading data for all taxonomic groups, parks and marine protected areas to the South African National Parks (SANParks) Biodiversity Information Management System (BIMS).

This is a three-month position. The incumbent is expected to already be proficient in cleaning and formatting biodiversity occurrence data using functions in Excel, R or OpenRefine.

The position starts in January 2024.

Location: Table Mountain National Park

Requirements

  • An MSc in Biological Sciences, Conservation Biology or similar.
  • At least six months of experience cleaning and formatting large biodiversity datasets.
  • Excellent data management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work productively full-time for three months curating, cleaning, formatting and uploading biodiversity occurrence data.

Cluster Manager (Biodiversity Social Projects)

A challenging position currently exists for Cluster Manager: Biodiversity Social Projects based at Harkerville for the Garden Route National Park Cluster on fixed term contract up to 31 March 2027, renewable on mutual agreement.

The successful candidate will be responsible to implement Biodiversity Special Projects funded by the Expanded Public Works Programme inclusive of alien & invasive species control, land- and wetland rehabilitation in the GRNP through sound corporate governance systems, policies and procedures and will report to the Implementation Manager: South.

Location: Garden Route National Park

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or BTech Conservation or Environmental Management
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven project management experience
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in invasive alien plant clearing is essential for this position
  • 3 – 5 years experience in health and safety management and compliance

Senior Manager – Supply Chain Management

A challenging position exists for a Senior Manager: Supply Chain Management in the Kruger National Park reporting to the General Manager: Finance and Supply Chain Management.

Location : Kruger National Park

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Chain (CIPS), Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) or Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) can be beneficial.
  • 7-10 years of experience in supply chain management with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role working in or within a public sector organisation.

Programme Manager: Sustainable Financing

The Organisation requires the services of a Programme Manager: Sustainable Financing in the Chief Operations Officer’s Division.

This position will report to the GM. Sustainable Development and Management, and will be based at Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria.

Location: Groenkloof National Park (Head Office)

Requirements

  • Be in possession of a Master’s degree or equivalent in resource/ environmental economics, business management, or environmental science.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in resource economics, environmental finance, business management, natural resource management, climate change mitigation, and biodiversity management.
  • Thorough understanding of the tourism and conservation industry.

Manager: Asset Management

The organisation requires the services of a Manager: Asset Management to be based at  Kruger National Park.

Location: Kruger National Park

Requirements

  • Be in possession of a B. Com in Finance or equivalent.
  • You should have 6 to 10 years of experience in a similar environment, of which 3 years are ideally at the senior management level.
  • You should have a proven track record in asset management.
  • Leadership and management skills

Fleet Manager (Re-advertisement)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the position of Fleet Manager within the Technical Services Department – Vehicle Fleet Services (Transport Depot Section) in Kruger National Park (KNP). The position will report to the Senior Manager: EMS.

The main purpose of the job:
To manage and control the vehicle fleet and equipment for Kruger National Park.

Requirements

  • A minimum of National Diploma in Road Transport/ Fleet Management or Logistics
  • A Degree in Fleet Management/ Logistics/ Road Transport will be an added advantage
  • 5 years of experience in the fleet/transport management environment, 2 years of those at management level
  • Experience in achieving optimal utilisation of the fleet.
