Job Purpose

To edit and proofread study material and other texts such as research articles, glossaries, abstracts, and official institutional documents in South Africa’s official languages in accordance with the directorate’s mission and standards.

Minimum Requirements:

English x10 posts

Requirements: Grade 12 (Matric) plus bachelor’s degree or National Diploma (in Language Practice/ Applied Language Study/Applied Linguistics/ Linguistics Degree/ National Diploma majoring in Language Editing (English).

Afrikans x10 posts

Requirements: Grade 12 (Matric) plus bachelor’s degree or National Diploma (in Language Practice/ Applied Language Study/Applied Linguistics/ Linguistics Degree/National Diploma majoring in Translation and Language Editing in the language of specialisation referred and English).

African Languages x90 posts

Requirements: Grade 12 (Matric) plus bachelor’s degree or National Diploma (in Language Practice/Applied Language Study/Applied Linguistics/ Linguistics Degree/National Diploma majoring in Translation and Language Editing in the language of specialisation referred and English).
