Purpose of the Programme
The aim of the Learnership opportunities is to provide life-long skills that everyone can use to the benefit of themselves, their families, and even their communities.
This program is your chance to gain hands-on experience, valuable skills, and nationally recognized qualifications – all while working alongside industry experts in a dynamic environment.
Fields of Learnership Training Programme
Training Fields and their Entry level requirements:
Auto Electrician
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science
- Engineering N2 certificate
Fitter
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science
- Engineering N2 certificate
Boilermaker
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science
- Engineering N2 certificate
Millwright
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science
- Electrical and Fitter Engineering N2 certificate
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
- Communication skills — good written and verbal
- Interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy (Basic user)
- Technical skills
Other Requirements
(Essential unless otherwise indicated)
- A Valid Code B/EB driver’s licence (Essential)
- Preparation and / study for assessments after hours to be done
- As part of the recruitment and enrolment process, candidates will be required to complete certain assessments such as Psychometric assessments, Knowledge-based assessments, Aptitude assessments, Language and Mathematical skills levels etc.
- Certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996 and meets the requirements of the Company’s Code of Practice
- Minimum standards of fitness to perform work at a Mine.
Terms and Conditions
The learner will be appointed based on the duration of the training agreement.
On completion of theoretical and practical training, the learners may be appointed where formal vacancies arise in compliance with the company’s recruitment procedures.
It must be clearly noted that Assmang Limited will be under no obligation whatsoever to employ the Learner on a fulltime basis as an artisan on completion of his / her training with the Company.
Successful candidates will be responsible for their own accommodation and transportation to and from their place of work.
Remuneration will be based on a monthly stipend.
