SHEQ Graduate

The purpose of this programme is to provide graduates with advanced workplace learning in a specialized discipline or sub discipline in their field of study. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12
  • Candidate must have Diploma/Degree in Safety/Environmental Management

Company Secretary

The position of the Company Secretary (COSEC) exists primarily to advise and manage the effective functioning of the Board, to provide Fraser Alexander with professional and specialist legal advice and to ensure that the Company adheres to all governance processes and comply with the provisions of the necessary applicable Acts.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B Com Legal or related Law degree.
  • Admitted Attorney/Advocate.
  • FCIS Accreditation.
  • Post graduate business degree will be an advantage.
  • Ethics Officer certification will be an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 8 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Previous mining experience will be advantageous.

Apprenticeship Engineering

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Artisan Development Programme is to create better future opportunities for aspiring Artisans in the sector and the country.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 passed with pure Mathematics 50% and Physical Science 50% pass;   or
  • Completed N3 Engineering Studies relating to  trade
  • Clear criminal record
  • Driver’s license

FITTER (x1)

  • N3 with the following subjects:
  • Pure Mathematics
  • Engineering Science
  • Fitting and Machining Trade Theory
  • Engineering Drawing

DIESEL MECHANIC (x3)

  • N3 with the following subjects:
  • Pure Mathematics
  • Engineering Science
  • Engineering Drawing
  • Diesel Trade Theory

BOILERMAKER (x1)

  • N3 with the following subjects:
  • Pure Mathematics
  • Engineering Science
  • Mechanotechology
  • Plating and Structural  Steel Drawings
  • Plater’s Trade Theory

 TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Certified medically fit
  • Pass client screening and induction
  • Applicants must not have been in a similar Apprenticeship Programme before
  • A formal trade test will be required on completion of an Apprenticeship

Artisan Assistant X2 posts

This role exists to assist Artisans (Boilermaker / Fitter / Millwright) to whom they are allocated to with daily maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 passed with pure Mathematics 50% and Physical Science 50% pass;   or
  • Completed N3 Engineering Studies

Millwright x2 posts

Exciting opportunities exist to assist in ensuring efficient operations of the Plant against set objectives, thus maintenance of the Plant . Assist in attending breakdowns as and when required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • N3 Mechanical / Electrical subjects
  • Trade test – Millwright MQA / Merseta preferred

Engineering Foreman

An exciting opportunity exists to ensure that engineering resources are utilised to maintain the Plant as planned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • N3 Mechanical / Electrical Engineering subjects
  • Millwright / Fitter / Electrician Trade Certificate (Section 26 or 13)
  • All training certificates and training module documentation be available from accredited training centre
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • MHSA supervision qualifications will be added advantage
  • Auto electrical qualification and experience will be added advantage

Superintendent

The role of the superintendent is to perform a technical and supervision of a tailings projects, ensuring the setting out of the site, applying relevant designs and plans, resources management, project progress monitoring, as well as liaising with sub-contractors and clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

  •  National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  •  BTech in Civil Engineering/ or BSc Degree in Civil Engineering.

EXPERIENCE

  •  Minimum two years’ experience working in a tailing’s management environment.
  •  Ideally two years’ production supervision capacity.
