Available internship opportunities
Intern – Office of the Dean x3 posts
Duties and responsibilities:
• Manage the reception area in the Dean’s office.
• Refer students and visitors to the appropriate person/department.
• Assist with the administration of students’ applications.
• Assist with faculty registration and progression processes.
• Assist students with curriculum advice (in collaboration with the Teaching & Learning and Faculty Managers).
• Assist students with time-tabling enquiries.
• Assist with faculty marketing events and activities.
• Capture comments on student records.
• Assist with research-related activities.
• Manage faculty proxy mailboxes.
• Communicate with students, the public and UFS staff members.
Inherent requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree on NQF Level 7 from the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences.
• Provisional acceptance letter for an Honours, master’s or PhD qualification in the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences for 2025.
Intern: Student Finance x2 posts
Duties and responsibilities:
Gain exposure and perform the following tasks:
• Process transactions on PeopleSoft.
• Capture data.
• Assist with NSFAS/bursary allocations, disbursements, and funding-related administration.
• Journalise rectifications/changes to accounts/entities.
• Manage account and general enquiries.
Inherent requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree or a B-Tech degree on NQF Level 7 in the field of Accounting.
Intern Receptionist x1 post
Inherent requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or an Advanced Diploma/B Tech degree/postgraduate certificate on NQF Level 7 or a three-year national diploma on NQF Level 6 in Hospitality Management or relevant field.
Recommendations:
• Knowledge of a booking system.
