This opportunity is designed to deepen one’s knowledge in the aquatics genomics field through hands-on experience and exposure to a wide range of projects and services.
This is a full-time, skill-building internship based in Makhanda, Eastern Cape and is focused on professional development in Genomics.
About DIPLOMICS
DIPLOMICS (Distributed Platform in Omics) is a research infrastructure supported by the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation’s South African Research Infrastructure Roadmap.
One of the DIPLOMICS main objectives is to promote technical training for researchers and particularly students, in order to improve access to Omics technologies in South Africa.
The AGRP, a key DIPLOMICS partner in the Eastern Cape, will be hosting an internship in 2025. This opportunity is designed to deepen one’s knowledge in the aquatics genomics field through hands-on experience and exposure to a wide range of projects and services.
This is a full-time, skill-building internship based in Makhanda and focused on professional development in Genomics.

Eligibility Requirements
- This opportunity is available to candidates with an MSc degree obtained in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology or a related field within the last two years.
- Candidates with a BSc Honours degree, and who have recently submitted their MSc degree copy for examination , will also be considered.
- Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in Genomics.
