These positions are located at the Assmang operation which is situated approximately 29 km from Kathu next to the N14 in the Southern Kalahari.
About the Graduate Programme
Khumani Mine is offering structured workplace opportunities for graduates eager to apply their qualifications in a dynamic and supportive environment!
The graduate programme is part of an initiative to address Assmang’ s critical and scarce skills as well as to provide a hands-on workplace structured graduate development programme (GDP) for unemployed youth in the JTG District.
Purpose of the Programme
The structured programme intends to develop graduates/diplomats with skills and experience to function in a working environment.
Applications are invited from unemployed and suitably qualified graduates who are not currently on a graduate / internship programme and meet the under-listed criteria.
Fields of Study
(Essential unless otherwise indicated) Bachelors Degree in any of the specified disciplines:
Occupational Hygiene / Environmental Health
Occupational Therapy
Geology
Mine Surveying / Mineral Resource Management
Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
Mining Engineering
Requirements
- South African Citizen
- Currently unemployed
- No active criminal records
- A valid Code B driver’s license
Terms and Conditions
The candidate will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit as per Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996.
The graduate will be appointed based on the duration of the graduate development programme / agreement Remuneration will be based on an all-inclusive package.
It must be clearly noted that Assmang Pty Limited will be under no obligation whatsoever to employ the graduate on a fulltime basis on the completion of his/her training with the Company.
Successful candidates will be responsible for their own accommodation and transportation to and from their place of work.

MECHANICAL/ ELECTRICAL GRADUATES TO SUBMITTHE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS AS PART OF THEIR APPLICATION:
- Proof of Application for acceptance as a candidate for Mechanical/Electrical Engineering certificate of Competency at the DMRE.
- Proof of Professional Registration.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- As part of the recruitment process candidates will be required to complete Psychometric assessments
- Certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996 and meet the requirements of the Company’s Code of Practice minimum standards of fitness to perform work at the mine.
Preference will be given to unemployed Graduates from the Northern Cape Province, residing in John Taolo Gaetsewe District (i.e. Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality, Gamagara Local Municipality, & Joe Morolong Municipality).
