Requirements

• Applicants must be South African citizen between the age of 18 and 25.
• Applicants must be in their first, second and third year of studies at a recognised South African institution of higher learning, which includes universities, universities of technology.
• The applicant must have achieved an aggregate of 70% to qualify.

What the Bursary covers

• Full tuition fees.
• Compulsory prescribed books.
• Stationery and laptop.
• Monthly stipend.
• Accommodation.

Study Fields

SUPPORTED QUALIFICATION STREAMS ALIGNED TO STEM

Funding for the following qualifications will be capped at R50 000

• Biotechnology
• Information Technology
• Microbiology
• Environmental
• Biochemistry etc.

Funding for the following qualifications will be fully covered

• Electrical Engineering.
• Chemical Engineering.
• Industrial Engineering.
• Environmental Engineering.
• Robotics and advanced Control.
• Mechanical Engineering.
