The primary object of the South African Reserve Bank is to protect the value of the currency in the interest of balanced and sustainable economic growth in the Republic.

The South African Reserve Bank, in support of its primary objective, seeks to recruit for the following positions outlined below.

Available career positions

Business Operations Officer

  • Closing Date: 20 November 2024
  • Location: Head Office, Pretoria, Gauteng

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

  • the minimum of a National Diploma (NQF 6) in Business Administration, Financial Management or Operations Management; and 
  • the minimum of 2–5 years’ experience in financial services and/or banking services.

Buyer

  • Closing Date: 08 December 2024
  • Location: Head Office, Pretoria, Gauteng

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

  • the minimum of a National Diploma (NQF 6) in Commerce/Supply Chain Management or an equivalent qualification; and
  • the minimum of two to five years’ experience in the procurement or supply chain management environment.

Programme Manager – Security

  • Closing Date: 25 November 2024
  • Location: Head Office, Pretoria, Gauteng

The main purpose of this position is to manage projects within the Group Security Management Department by providing assurance that projects are delivered to specification, within budget and on time.

To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

  • an Honours degree in Programme/Project Management or an equivalent NQF8 qualification; 
  • relevant programme/project management certification (PMP, CAPM or PgMP), with exposure to Agile/Scrum (CSM or SAFe); 

  • at least eight years’ programme/portfolio management-related experience, of which at least two years are in a team leader or management capacity; and
  • sound knowledge of portfolio, programme and project management disciplines, contract and service management and project cost management. 

Fintech Analyst

  • Closing Date: 22 November 2024
  • Location: Head Office, Pretoria, Gauteng

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must have: 

  • an Honours’ degree in Law, Economics, Technology or Finance; and 
  • five to eight years’ experience in financial sector innovation, regulation, law or economics.

Additional requirements include: 

  • sound knowledge of economic and financial theories; 
  • knowledge of the regulatory environment and public policy issues;
  • strong technical skills and a working understanding of information technology

Category Lead: Operations

  • Closing Date: 02 December 2024
  • Location: Head Office, Pretoria, Gauteng

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

  • a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Commerce or Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent qualification; and
  • a minimum of 7–8 years of experience in the procurement or sourcing environment, of which at least three years should be in a supervisory capacity. The following would be an added advantage:
  •  a Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) certification.
