Training for engineers will be aligned with the requirements of ECSA for professional registration after 3 to 5 years but such registration will remain the responsibility of the trainee.

Responsibilities As Part Of The Training
- Assessing project / task requirements
- Measuring performance of mechanical or electrical components and devices
- Liaising with internal customers, external customers including suppliers regarding technical issues
- Undertaking relevant research and presenting designs / ideas to manag-ers and clients
- Adhere to SHERQ Management regulations (ISO 9001,ISO 14001,ISO 45001)
- Testing, evaluating, modifying and retesting products
- Writing monthly progress reports, manuals, and other relevant documen-tation
- Analyzing and interpreting complex data
- Formulating and presenting internal technical courses
- Production functions
Work Conditions
- Physical, sensory, mental demands and environmental conditions.
- Factory/Workshop environment and on Eskom power stations in Mpumalanga / Volksrust areas. Bulk of the mechanical positions are linked to a 4-year Eskom contract, hence:
- Preference will be given to individuals who originate from the following areas: Volksrust, Amersfoort, Witbank, Middleburg, Lephalale and Delmas.
Practical training will mainly be conducted at the factory workshop in Johannesburg as well as the relevant Eskom Power Stations. The region from which the individual originates will be taken into consideration.
