PURPOSE:
• To ensure efficient and effective production planning and reporting and fulfil financial management support
Qualifications
• N4: Engineering Relevant (Essential/Minimum or)
• N4: Production (Essential/Minimum)
• Certificate First Line Management (Essential/Minimum)
• N Dip: (Relevant) (Recommended/Desirable)
Experience
- 3-5 years Relevant experience within a heavy industry, mining, production environment of which 2 years specific plant exposure and project management as production foreman/shift leader (Essential/Minimum) Operational
Requirements
• Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
• Competence: MS Office Relevant Package (Essential/Minimum)
• Competence: SAP Position Specific Module (Recommended/Desirable)
Duties and Responsibilities
Administration and Document Control
• Execute daily/weekly/monthly plant production reporting
• Execute monthly production reconciliation with finance and survey departments
• Capture relevant sales transaction into SAP and Pit-to-Port
• Execute all ad-hoc tracking and monitoring graphs supporting production management and client relationship management
• Manage SAP CO, SD, PP and MM support functions
• Coordinate monthly cost and consumption reporting.
Budget and Cost Control
• Assist in the analysis of expenses in preparation of annual budget and monthly forecast
• Enter sectional budget into SAP.
Effective People Management
• Ensure an optimised team structure is manned by staff that is motivated, empowered and lead by sound performance management and transformational leadership practices
• Promote teamwork, provide support and manage performance by creating and maintaining individual development plans of subordinates
• Assume responsibility for managing manpower, efficient resource allocation, and declaration of competence and reduction of operating cost.
Maintenance Control
• Ensure effective and preventative maintenance management of all plant and infrastructure machines, systems and equipment to limit failure and optimise production processes
• Coordinate plant shutdowns.
Performance Management and Continuous Improvement
• Drive research and development initiatives to ensure continuous improvement and enhanced performance
• Keep abreast of new developments and ensure potential threats within designated area is identified and addressed timeously
• Benchmark plant/mining activities and track performance to indicate improvement opportunities.
Production Efficiency
• Achieve production targets through optimum output
• Ensure operational efficiency and quality
• Assume responsibility for coordinating first line maintenance to limit plant/equipment downtime
• Ensure targets and client requirements are met
• Ensure limited production downtime
• Daily communication with plant control room and relevant departments
• Ensure the correct quality product (monitored stacking, reclaiming process and stockpile management).
