Sappi offers a one-year internship for recent graduate in Agriculture or Horticulture.

Job Purpose

This program provides hands-on, meaningful experience in farming operations with a focus on plant production under the guidance of skilled mentors, helping candidates transition smoothly into the professional world.

Main Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the job:

• – Assist with the planning, oversight and operational management of a farm (Tree Nursery or Avocado or Macadamia).
• – Assist with the safety compliance of the farming operation.
• – Assist with the establishment of new orchards or expansion of existing operations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have:

•  – Grade 12/Matric certificate.
• – Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Agriculture or Horticulture with a focus on plant production.
• – Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
• – No prior work experience is required. 
• – Good skills in planning and project management.
