CEF SOC aims to enhance energy security in South Africa through various initiatives, including exploration, acquisition, and strategic partnerships, as mandated by the CEF Act (No 38 of 1977).
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Grade 12
- Certifications:
- Security Officer Certification (Grade B) + PSIRA registration
- Grade A (Advantage) or higher certificate
Skills and Experience
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Driver’s license
- First Aid Level 1 (preferred)
- Safety or Emergency Response Training (desirable)
- 2-3 years as a security officer in a refinery, manufacturing plant, or mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol premises for signs of intrusion and ensure security protocols.
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Enforce rules and regulations; apprehend or evict violators.
- Operate security devices to prevent unauthorized entries.
- Inspect security systems and machinery for signs of tampering.
- Monitor access of employees and visitors.
- Ensure adherence to Covid-19 protocols at entrances.
- Write reports on daily activities and irregularities.
- Serve as a backup receptionist as required.
Requirements
- Candidates are subject to personnel suitability checks (criminal, financial, and employment history).
- Applicants must attach evaluations from the South African Qualifications Authority for foreign qualifications.
