Qualifications

  • Education: NQF 4 (Grade 12 or equivalent) with Mathematics and Physical Science.
  • Certifications:
    • Chamber of Mines Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control
    • Laboratory AQA Certificate
    • Radiation Protection Monitor Certificate
    • Membership in Mine Ventilation Society of South Africa
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Environmental Engineering or Occupational Hygiene.
  • Other Requirements: Medically fit, clear security screening, valid driver’s license (if applicable).

Key Responsibilities

  1. Environmental Management:
    • Execute action plans and monitor environmental incidents.
    • Conduct inspections and manage compliance with environmental policies.
    • Report on environmental performance and engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
  2. Stakeholder Relations:
    • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Maintain open communication across all levels of the organization.
  3. Financial Management:
    • Drive cost-saving initiatives and ensure competitiveness in operations.
  4. Cultural and ESG Compliance:
    • Participate in the execution of organizational development plans and align with responsible mining principles.
    • Support initiatives for sustainability and compliance with SHE standards.
  5. Quality Management:
    • Uphold standards of the Quality Management System and participate in risk assessments.
