Role Overview
We are seeking 3 Temporary Project Engineers to join our Logistics Department in Kariega. In this role, you will focus on optimizing material flow to support Production, P&A, as well as Localization and Export projects. You will engage in planning, designing, and developing handling facilities and logistics systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Logistics Material Flow Concepts: Plan and prepare detailed logistics material flow concepts for production and warehouse environments.
- Facility Design: Prepare layouts, drawings, and specifications for logistics facilities like stillages, pallets, and racking systems.
- Project Management: Define project plans, coordinate requirements, and monitor project progress.
- Supplier Interaction: Prepare inquiry requests to obtain quotations from suppliers and negotiate contracts.
- Budget Management: Prepare budget justifications for capital expenditures and develop packaging specifications.
- Contract Specification: Draft and update Logistics Material Handling Contract specifications.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree or National Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or Purchasing.
Experience
- Logistics Processes: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics processes within a manufacturing environment.
- Project Management: At least 18 months’ experience in project management.
Essential Skills
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Self-Starter: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and under pressure.
- Planning and Organization: Good planning and decision-making skills to meet deadlines.
- Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in producing, understanding, and interpreting 3D CAD drawings.
- Computer Literacy: Full proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word) and advanced Excel skills.
Added Advantages
- Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with SAP systems in Supply Chain Management.
- Proficiency in the German language.
