Overview
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Mining Learnership within the Anglo American Group.
This role is designed for candidates to participate in a structured 18 months Mining Learnership Programme at Sishen Mine, where you will gain both practical and theoretical experience in mining operations.
Kumba Iron Ore operates in the Northern Cape, focusing on producing high-quality iron ore while ensuring safety, sustainability, and community engagement.
The organisation strives towards a future with minimal environmental impact and significant social responsibility.
Learnership Programme Highlights
- Duration:Â 18 months.
- Target Audience:Â Unemployed South African youth between 18 and 35 years.
- Focus on:Â Safety, community development, Employment Equity.
- Goal:Â Equip learners with essential mining industry skills, emphasizing inclusiveness and empowerment.
Responsibilities
As a Mining Learnership participant, your responsibilities include:
- Safety, Health, and Environment
- Adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Engage in Safety, Health, and Risk Assessments.
- Performance and Delivery
- Attend training modules focused on both theoretical and practical training.
- Assist in daily operations and maintenance within mining environments.
- Collaborate effectively with teams to achieve designated goals.
- Documentation & Community Engagement
- Record training progress and submit reports.
- Positively represent the organization in community interactions.
Qualifications
Required:
- Grade 12 or N3 Technical with Mathematics Literacy or Mathematics; Physical Science is advantageous.
- Valid South African ID.
- South African Driver’s Licence.
- Proof of Residential Address.
Skills:
- Ability to understand instructions, read documents, and perform basic calculations.
- Introductory knowledge of workplace safety and environmental impact management.
