The City of Johannesburg (CoJ), through its Group Finance Department, is offering an exciting internship opportunity in the field of Marketing and Events Graphic Design.

The internship is available for a maximum duration of 18 months at the Group Finance Branch located at 61 Jorrisen Street, Thuso House.

Internship Position:

  • Designation: Internship: Marketing and Events Graphic Design
  • Location: 61 Jorrisen Street, Thuso House
  • Remuneration:
    • R9,960.45 per month for candidates with a completed qualification (min 360 credits)
    • R3,500.00 per month for candidates enrolled as students (Basic salary, no benefits)

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12/Matric plus a Diploma/tertiary degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Marketing, Web Design, or a related field. Relevant post-secondary qualifications combined with experience in Graphic Design are acceptable.
  • Only applicants who reside in the City of Johannesburg will be considered.

Primary Function

The intern will manage the implementation of the Group Finance’s Communication and Marketing Strategy, supporting the Communications and Stakeholder Management unit. Responsibilities include:

  • Creating original graphic designs and layouts.
  • Overseeing production of materials.
  • Designing illustrations and infographics.
  • Coordinating design projects from conception through delivery.
  • Providing graphic design solutions for both print and digital formats.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders within the Group Finance department to achieve goals.
