Requirements

  • Qualification in Law, Public Management, Public Administration, Policing, Criminology, Forensics, or Criminal Justice (NQF level 6 as recognized by SAQA)
  • Basic understanding of the Refugee Act and Immigration Act
  • Knowledge of relevant public service and Departmental Legislative Frameworks
  • Valid driver’s license (Code EC) and Public Driver Permit (PDP)
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours

Duties

  • Implementing Immigration Services processes and compliance
  • Effective enforcement of the Immigration Act
  • Detecting, tracing, detaining, and prosecuting illegal foreigners
  • Supporting law enforcement investigations and anti-corruption cases
  • Conducting investigations of transgressions of immigration and refugee laws
  • Monitoring illegal foreign residents and conducting deportation processes
  • Managing state property and resources efficiently
  • Implementing policies and procedures
