Bursary Study Fields
A limited number of bursary positions are being offered to local and labour sending community members for a full-time study opportunity in line with Sibanye’s business needs in the following fields:
BSc Mining Engineering
BSc Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
BSc Geology/Honours
BSc in Mine Survey
BCom in Finance
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 Matric Certificate with University Acceptance (Mid-year results may be provisionally considered if currently studying).
- Minimum University Acceptance APS of 23.
- Minimum subject requirements:
- English: 5 (60% or higher)
- Mathematics: 5 (60% or higher)
- Physical Science: 5 (60% or higher)
- Reside in a Labour Sending Area or local community.
- Must be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre.
Advantageous Qualifications
- Aggregate above 60% in Mathematics and English in Grade 12.
- Evaluation outcome score of 4 or higher.
How to Apply
Final allocation is dependent on the applicant obtaining an acceptance letter from the university.
- Applicants will undergo an interview process and psychometric assessment.
- Applicants must upload the following documents online:
- Proof of residence
- CV
- Certified (SAPS) copies of ID and qualifications
- Preference will be given to applicants from Burnstone local communities and labour sending areas who meet the institution’s registration requirements.
- The selection process will not be delayed to accommodate applicants whose screening process is delayed for any reason.
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a panel interview.
