Job Purpose
The Ramp Agent is tasked with overseeing the loading and offloading of aircraft to ensure high service standards by vendors.
This role is crucial for maintaining safety during aircraft turnaround processes and recording service deficiencies for subsequent corrective actions.
Principal Responsibilities
- Implement department strategy and support operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with service level standards from all vendors.
- Monitor flight handling processes and report any irregularities.
- Facilitate communication among stakeholders for seamless operations.
- Inspect equipment, ensure aircraft readiness, and address safety concerns.
- Assist with passenger boarding, baggage reconciliation, and prepare aircraft for departure.
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 (Mathematics preferred).
- A 3-year Diploma or relevant qualification (NQF Level 6) and/or 4 years in an airline operations environment.
- Valid driver’s license (minimum code 8).
- Knowledge of aircraft types, aviation procedures, and baggage management.
Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of airline operations and service suppliers.
- Time management, conflict resolution, planning, and computer literacy.
