Graça Machel Trust is recruiting Master Mentors

Program Overview

The Graça Machel Trust (GMT) is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women across Africa through various initiatives.

The Women Creating Wealth (WCW) program focuses on enhancing women’s entrepreneurial skills, aiming to transition businesses from income-generating to wealth-creating entities.

The program has successfully aided over 500 alumni entrepreneurs and aims to reach 10,000 businesswomen in the next five years.

Master Mentoring Role

Master Mentoring is an advanced coaching segment within the Ignite Program, guided by successful program alumni.

The role involves:

  • Leading five 90-minute mentoring sessions over five months for up to 30 entrepreneurs.
  • Evaluating and providing constructive feedback on assignments.
  • Tracking and reporting on entrepreneurs’ progress.
  • Facilitating group learning and collaboration among entrepreneurs.
  • Attending training sessions and Community of Practice meetings for continuous improvement.

Deliverables

Successful candidates will complete various tasks, including:

  • Induction and orientation as a Master Mentor.
  • Monthly attendance at Community of Practice sessions.
  • Use of an LMS for tracking progress and grading assignments.
  • Regular reporting and feedback to entrepreneurs post-sessions.
  • Active participation in the WCW Business community.

Compensation

  • The position offers a remuneration of $300 per month, with additional reporting responsibilities regarding monthly activities and lessons learned.

Supervision

  • The assignment will be managed by a Coach Systems Consultant, supported by the project team.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

  • Strong facilitation and mentoring experience.
  • Knowledge of the entrepreneurial landscape and excellent communication skills.
  • Previous entrepreneurial experience and alumni status from the Ignite program are preferred.

  • Candidates should demonstrate leadership qualities, flexibility, a passion for capacity-building, and cultural sensitivity. Independent initiative and teamwork skills are also essential.
