The WEINERT Foundation is excited to announce the launch of the WEINERT Foundation Bursaries for 2025!

Education is the cornerstone of growth and innovation, and through this initiative, we aim to provide deserving students with the opportunity to pursue their dreams and unlock their full potential.
This bursary program is specifically designed to empower the next generation of South African engineers and scientists!
Eligibility Criteria
1. Citizenship:
Applicants must be South African citizens.
2. Fields of Study:
Open to students pursuing or intending to pursue qualifications in:
- Materials Science
- Metallurgical Engineering
- Physics (with a preference for specializing in photonics)
- Mechatronic Engineering
Academic Requirements
Undergraduate:
- Minimum of 60% in Pure Mathematics.
- Preliminary Grade 12 results must have an average of 70% (excluding Life Orientation).
Masters:
- A Bachelor of Science Honours in a related field with a minimum weighted average of 65%.
PhD:
- A Research Master’s degree in a related field.
- Applicants must identify and approach an academic supervisor before applying.

We are accepting applications from students attending or intending to attend:
- University of the Witwatersrand (WITS)
- Stellenbosch University (SU)
- Nelson Mandela University (NMU)
- University of Pretoria (UP)
