Bursary Overview

The BCE Bursary Programme is aimed at empowering previously disadvantaged South Africans who are younger than 25 years old and seeking to pursue their undergraduate or postgraduate studies in Electrical Engineering or Refrigeration Mechanic starting in 2025.

Application Deadline: All applications must be submitted by 15 January 2025.

This initiative is designed to support full-time students who are currently unemployed.

What the Bursary Covers

The bursary will cover all expenses related to:

  • Tuition
  • Study materials
  • Incidentals

Total funding shall not exceed R150,000.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the BCE Bursary Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a previously disadvantaged South African citizen.
  • Be under the age of 25 years as of 2025.
  • Be currently unemployed and studying full-time.
  • Intend to pursue studies in Engineering or Refrigeration at an undergraduate or postgraduate level starting in 2025.

Application Process

Application Submission:

  • Complete the BCE Bursary application form.
  • Collect all necessary supporting documents (e.g., identification, proof of previous academic performance, proof of acceptance into an accredited institution).
  • Email your completed application form and supporting documents to [email protected].

Selection Process:

  • All applications will be reviewed.
  • The top 10 candidates will be selected based on the eligibility criteria and overall application quality.
  • These candidates will be invited for a panel interview.

Award:

  • The best-suited individual from the panel interview will be awarded the bursary.
