We invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the Temporary Technical Data Analyst positions within our Logistics Department – Production in Kariega.
Job Purpose
In this role, you will provide accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for series and pre-series parts to internal and external supply chain partners for vehicle and component production.
You will manage the introduction of engineering changes and address any discrepancies in BOM situations, ensuring that corrective actions are communicated and executed effectively.
Your skills will help advance part number management, ensuring optimal products for our customers.
Possible Tasks Within This Role
- Evaluate the impact of engineering changes on BOMs and input this into the change management system.
- Convert Engineering Bills of Materials (E/BOM) into Production Bills of Materials (P/BOM).
- Determine timing for engineering change introductions, considering supplier lead times and inventory levels.
- Coordinate “Neuteile” (New Components) requests to ensure the continued supply of imported materials.
- Implement temporary changes in P/BOM to prevent line stoppages.
- Create and maintain correct documentation for permanent corrections.
- Provide continuous and accurate BOMs to JIT, JIS, and kit suppliers as vehicles progress through production.
- Investigate and resolve ad-hoc data queries related to P/BOM for timely parts delivery to production areas.
Qualification Requirements
- ND/Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, or Production Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Information Technology, or Data Science.
Experience Needed
- At least 3 years’ experience in the automotive industry, specifically within a logistics environment.
Essentials
- Working knowledge of VW Group Technical Data, Engineering Change Processes, and Engineering Systems.
- Familiarity with the PEP (Product Creation Process) process.
- Understanding of Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
- Project Management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI) and SAP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills with an innovative problem-solving approach.
