About the Role

As a Compliance Officer, you will provide independent assurance that the Bank adheres to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. This includes executing monitoring assignments according to the Compliance Monitoring Standard and identifying compliance risks through regular assessments and reviews.


Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance Support, Risk Management, and Oversight
    • Escalate non-compliance issues to relevant stakeholders.
    • Assist business departments in rating compliance risks as per the bank’s risk rating matrix.
    • Ensure management’s risk acceptance aligns with the Risk Acceptance Policy.
  • Alignment of Compliance Policies
    • Assess products, policies, and processes to verify adherence to legislative obligations and regulatory expectations.
  • Compliance Assurance Reviews
    • Plan and conduct compliance reviews per the monitoring coverage plan, ensuring timely execution.
    • Develop monitoring programs, conduct fieldwork, and perform testing.
    • Draft detailed reports with findings, root causes, risks, and action plans.
  • Reporting
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather inputs for internal and external reporting.
    • Produce comprehensive reports for governance structures and regulatory requirements.
    • Play a role in automating reporting processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Prepare for regulatory engagements and own reporting on them.
    • Work with management on reporting requirements and continuous improvements.

What You Will Bring

  • National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Risk Management, Accounting, or Auditing.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial services compliance, legal advising, internal auditing, or risk management.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across all levels, including Exco.
  • Knowledge of regulations and Acts related to financial services.
  • Collaborative experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.
