Position Overview
Transnet Freight Rail is offering a Trainee Yard Official programme in Belfast. The programme provides both theoretical and practical training to prepare candidates for certification as Yard Officials. Trainees will learn rail yard operations, train handling procedures, and safety standards while gaining hands-on experience in railway operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend and complete theoretical training modules
- Participate in practical training within the set timeframe
- Learn to operate rail yard equipment and perform operational duties
- Maintain a portfolio of evidence for training progress
- Work safely while completing assigned tasks
- Support operational goals aligned with the company’s strategy
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Must pass a psychological screening test
- Must pass a job-related medical test (including eyesight and hearing)
- Physically fit
- Must successfully complete theoretical and practical training
