Bursary Overview
The Shoprite Accounting (CA Stream – SAICA) Bursary aims to attract high-performing accounting students and support them financially during their studies.
Successful bursary recipients will be considered for the Shoprite SAICA Trainee Accountant Programme, which provides trainees with:
- Exposure to the commerce and retail industry
- Academic support during their studies
- Mentorship from experienced finance professionals
During the three-year trainee programme, graduates rotate across different departments within the business to gain practical experience and develop the competencies required to meet SAICA learning outcomes and prepare for the APC exam.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Studying BCom Accounting or BAcc (CA Stream) degree
- Minimum 65% academic aggregate
- Currently in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year, or completing PGDA / CTA
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be 27 years old or younger
