Job Overview

Capitec is seeking a Learning & Development Manager to lead capability development within its Shared Services division. This is a strategic role focused on transforming learning into a high-impact, measurable business function.

The successful candidate will design and implement future-focused learning strategies, build scalable skills frameworks, and drive capability transformation in a fast-paced, AI-enabled environment.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or Industrial/Organisational Psychology

Experience:

  • Proven experience in leading large-scale learning or capability transformation
  • Experience building skills frameworks or learning academies
  • Experience operating in regulated environments

  • Strategic thinking and commercial awareness
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Ability to design scalable learning solutions
  • Analytical mindset with focus on measurable outcomes

Key Responsibilities

Learning Strategy & Capability Development

  • Translate business strategy into capability roadmaps and learning pathways
  • Identify future-fit skills, including digital and AI capabilities
  • Measure learning impact beyond completion metrics

Functional Skills Academies

  • Design and implement scalable learning academies
  • Develop skills frameworks and proficiency levels
  • Support reskilling, upskilling, and workforce mobility

Compliance Learning

  • Transform compliance training into engaging, impactful learning experiences
  • Drive behavioural change and accountability
  • Partner with risk and compliance teams

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and leadership teams
  • Diagnose capability gaps and deliver tailored learning solutions
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders

Learning Innovation & Digital Enablement

  • Transition to a skills-based, AI-driven learning ecosystem
  • Use analytics to improve learning effectiveness
  • Deliver digital-first, scalable learning solutions

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and develop learning teams and designers
  • Drive enterprise-wide learning transformation initiatives

Change Management & Onboarding

  • Support organisational change through learning interventions
