Job Overview

Sibanye-Stillwater is recruiting a Jnr Controller Production to support refinery and metallurgical operations at its Marikana Platinum operations.

The role involves executing and monitoring complex chemical and metallurgical processes across platinum, palladium, and gold circuits, ensuring safe production, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • NQF Level 4 (Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate) with Mathematics and Science
  • OR Qualification in Chemical Operations

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a refinery or metallurgical environment

Additional Requirements:

  • Medically fit for the role
  • Clear security screening record
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable)

Key Competencies:

  • Knowledge of metallurgical processes
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
  • Ability to monitor and control production processes
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities

Production & Process Operations

  • Execute and monitor metallurgical processes including dissolve, hydrolysis, precipitation, and reduction
  • Control process parameters such as temperature, pH, and chemical flow rates
  • Conduct reactor vessel inspections and calibrations

Materials Handling & Processing

  • Manage feed materials, reagents, and product transfers
  • Perform batch processing, weighing, and filtration activities
  • Ensure accurate transaction of materials on MES systems

Sampling & Quality Control

  • Collect and submit samples for laboratory analysis
  • Maintain accurate process logs and documentation

Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

  • Comply with SHE standards and company policies
  • Participate in risk assessments and safety observations
  • Promote a culture of safe working practices

Stakeholder & Operational Support

  • Maintain communication with internal stakeholders
  • Support operational efficiency and cost-saving initiatives

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Support ESG and responsible mining initiatives
