Job Overview
STANLIB is seeking a skilled Fund Accountant, Private Markets to manage investment administration and financial operations for multiple clients.
The role focuses on ensuring accurate accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance while overseeing the full lifecycle of investment fund accounting processes, including Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations, reconciliations, and pricing.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance and Accounting
Experience:
- Knowledge of South African regulatory requirements (investment managers, pension funds, unit trusts)
- Experience with financial instruments such as equities, fixed income, and derivatives
- Understanding of investment performance analysis and attribution
- Unit pricing experience in a specialist or senior role
- Knowledge of CISCA and unit trust regulations
- Familiarity with transfer agent processes and unitisation
Technical Skills:
- Financial and management accounting
- Asset management principles
- Deal/trade lifecycle knowledge
- Performance benchmarking

Key Responsibilities
Investment Administration
- Manage accounting and financial operations for multiple investment funds
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
Fund Accounting & NAV Management
- Oversee end-to-end fund accounting processes
- Ensure timely calculation, verification, and release of Net Asset Values (NAVs)
- Perform reconciliations and price sourcing
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards
- Support pre- and post-trade compliance processes
Performance & Analysis
- Oversee investment performance reporting and analysis
- Understand and manage the impact of accounting data on performance calculations
Stakeholder & Operational Support
