Job Overview

The SARB is inviting applications for its 2027 Information Technology Internship Programme (Grow-IT), with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This programme is designed to develop scarce and critical IT skills within the Business Solutions and Technology Department (BSTD). Interns will gain both technical and behavioural competencies while working in a dynamic IT environment.

The internship runs for 12 months, with the possibility of extension, and provides hands-on exposure to real-world IT and AI projects.

Requirements

To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • National Diploma in IT (NQF 6) or
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or IT (with AI/Data Engineering exposure) or
  • BTech in Computer Science Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science (NQF 7)
  • South African citizenship
  • Aged between 18 and 35 years
  • Strong curiosity, innovation, and self-motivation

Advantageous Skills:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Microsoft Azure)
  • Python programming knowledge
  • Basic understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP)
  • Interest or exposure to Artificial Intelligence
