Job Overview

As a Medical Delegate, you will drive market share growth for Nestlé Infant Nutrition by promoting recommendations and advocacy of Nestlé products with HCPs and healthcare institutions (HCIs) in your assigned territory.

Your role balances ethical product advocacy, relationship building, territory management, and compliance with international codes, all while delivering professional, science-based insights to healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Product and Concept Detailing

  • Apply professional negotiation skills to communicate product and concept knowledge
  • Detail the Nestlé Infant Nutrition range to HCPs and institutions using evidence-based information

Territory Management

  • Manage 250–300 HCPs and HCIs per assigned territory
  • Execute master schedule planning, HCP call rate, and territory action plans
  • Implement hybrid/remote interaction models

Compliance

  • Ensure all activities comply with the WHO International Code for Breastmilk Substitutes, Nestlé instructions, and local codes
  • Support leadership in maintaining compliance within the team

Advocacy

  • Increase advocacy for Nestlé Infant Nutrition products and services
  • Build strategic relationships with key contacts in private and government sectors
  • Drive recommendation/advocacy at both HCP and institutional levels

Requirements

  • Qualification: B/BSc Dietetics, Nutrition, or Nursing degree
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Medical Delegate or pharmaceutical representative
  • Digital data management experience and MS Excel intermediate
  • Valid and unendorsed driver’s license
  • Fluent in Xhosa or Zulu (Gqeberha) or English (Mpumalanga / Edenvale)
  • Strong planning, organizing, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Self-starter, adaptable, solution-oriented, and result-driven
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight trips
  • Experience with virtual engagement
