Job Overview

Afrimat is offering a Health and Safety Internship for graduates looking to gain practical experience in a mining and industrial environment. The programme focuses on safety compliance, inspections, reporting, and supporting SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) processes.

Interns will receive hands-on exposure to real-world safety operations, helping to build a strong foundation in workplace health and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily safety checks and complete checklists
  • Assist with inspections and risk assessments
  • Support incident investigations and reporting
  • Facilitate toolbox talks and safety inductions
  • Update safety notice boards and documentation
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing and reporting

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • National Diploma or Degree in Health and Safety or related field
  • Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act legislation
  • Health & Safety certification (e.g., SAMTRAC preferred)
