Programme Overview

Launch your healthcare career through Ampath’s HWSETA-funded Phlebotomy Learnership Programme. This 24-month full-time learnership equips students with hands-on experience in:

  • Blood collection and laboratory procedures
  • Professional patient care
  • Clinical workplace exposure at Ampath Care Centers

The programme combines structured online and classroom learning with practical experience, preparing learners for HPCSA registration as a Phlebotomy Technician.

  • Format: Online classes + in-person training, Monday to Friday
  • Locations: Centurion (Gauteng) and Westridge (Durban, KZN)

Eligibility Requirements

  • Age: Under 35 (HWSETA youth empowerment initiative)
  • Academic: Minimum 60% in Matric Pure Mathematics, Life Sciences/Biology, and English
  • Qualifications: No qualifications above NQF Level 4 for funding eligibility
  • Technical: Smartphone or device with stable internet for online learning
  • Other: Limited positions available; acceptance depends on HWSETA funding
